Working alongside the architect and client this project was the commercial development and barn conversion of four large barns. The brief was; to keep the barn look and feel while transforming them into commercial space for rent.
With our knowledge of working on these types of structures, alongside the design team we managed to keep the traditional barn look. Internally much of the timber structure remains exposed but the fabric brought up to modern standards required for rental.
Working on a site with existing commercial properties and a working farm requires careful planning. This was particularly important to keep both the construction and commercial aspects of the site running smoothly.
The height and space within the barns give a lovely bright and open working environment. One of the highlights and more technical aspects of the build was the staircase into one of the entrances. With the design being brushed mild steel with glass handrails and balustrading gives a modern and industrial finish in keeping with the site.
